You never know who is watching your family business…
In last week’s Thought4TheWeek I suggested how important it is right now to market your family business across as many relevant channels as possible.
Within an hour of posting, I had comments from readers with a considerable range of views, albeit, in general agreement with the post, that family businesses must market themselves in whatever way they find is most effective – and keep doing it!
One comment stood out from an old client of mine who I haven’t heard from in a considerable time.
It was great to hear from him and to accept his kind words of encouragement. He has been reading my missives for a long while, although I didn’t know it. This time he felt it compelling enough to write a suggestion for all family businesses…
“Businesses must simply get into resurrection mode and re market themselves using their unique assets. Keep the faith!”
I couldn’t agree more Len Jones!
Len made contact through email however, I have also had comments on our social media platforms, by text and surprise, surprise even phone calls!
What’s the point, Peter?
When spending the time, effort, and budget in marketing your business, you must understand that it is likely to be a long-term play. It is a rarity indeed to spend on a marketing campaign one minute and to have phenomenal results the next day.
If you listen to radio advertising for instance, there are good reasons why the same advert is played repeatedly for months on end (hopefully without driving you mad!) the numbers show that longevity is the name of the game.
So what techniques are you using in marketing currently that have worked in the long term?
We would love to hear from you.
