How much is your Knowledge worth?

How much is your Knowledge worth?

Whilst on holiday in Northern Ireland a few weeks ago I took this picture on the beach at Ballygally. You might recall I shared a picture of the Ballygally Polar Bear a few weeks ago…

I didn’t immediately see this stone; in fact, our daughter Hazel noticed it first (she is an avid beach goer). Yet once you saw the stone you couldn’t take your eyes off and it just stood out.

There were lots of stones of all shapes and sizes but all the same colour – this one simply shone above all others.

Now I am sure a wise person will tell us why this was the only white stone on the beach however it struck me at the time it was a parallel to our business life.

Let’s be honest, for most of us our businesses are probably like our competitors, just like the black stones on the beach, hard to distinguish.

Yet our clients see us as the stone that stands out and they see things that sometimes even we don’t see – perhaps intangible to us but very real to them. The trick is how do you understand what that intangible is and then find a way to replicate it on a regular basis?

Well perhaps it’s not an intangible?

Perhaps it’s a very straightforward reason why they chose us.

For me I think one of the practical things you can do right now is to show your experience.

In these days of social media advertising, it seems there are many who are happy to give promises of get rich quick systems. They have perhaps attended a course to show them how to make money and they replicate what has been shown and expect it to work.

In my experience buyers are savvier than that.

Yes, buyers want answers but most of all they want it from people who have a true track record that can demonstrate REAL experience.

In my case its decades (there must be some upside to getting older!)

So, if your knowledge is based upon REAL experience why not let everyone know that?

Be the white stone perhaps…

Just a thought…
